Key Stage 1

Key Stage 1

Here at Christ Church our central aim is the education of the whole child. This includes their spiritual, emotional, social, physical and academic development. We will strive to cater for each pupil’s needs and actively encourage them to develop their own abilities and so achieve their personal goals.

The team work alongside other agencies and partnerships to promote a fully inclusive school where all children are valued and respected as individuals and are well supported, enabling them to reach their full potential.

In Year 1 we support the children through the transition from The Foundation Stage to Key Stage 1. We gradually increase the children’s exposure to more structured, whole class learning and longer lesson times over the initial Autumn Term. Children still engage in lots of practical, hands on activities, using a range of resources to develop different concepts.

In Year 2 we quickly get the children settled and ready for the SATs. Are you familiar with the current expectations of children at the end of Year 2?
