Governor Vacancies at Christ Church
Christ Church CE Primary School is looking to appoint two foundation governors at the school.
Governors at our school play a key role in ensuring that the children of our community develop both academically and spiritually within a distinctive Christian ethos. We are looking for people who are able to commit time and effort to support the school in the understanding of its work and the development of the children in the school.
Governors do not have to be educational experts as help is given in developing such skills, and training is available on all aspects of school governance. What is important is a willingness to commit to the role, and an ability to ask questions, whilst working with others to ensure the best outcomes for the children, challenging and supporting school leaders in equal measure. Governing body meetings take place once a term at Christ Church Primary, with smaller subcommittees held termly and occasional ‘learning walks’ with subject leaders. Membership of any committee will be based on your interests and experience.
School governance uses the experience of people from many walks of life. Whether you have an interest in finance or have practical experience of working in a variety of situations, you could make a valuable contribution to the work of the school governing body. Christian service can take many forms and we feel that church school governance is an important part of the church’s mission. We would therefore encourage you to ask God if this may be the work that He is calling you to do.
If you think you could take on this challenging and rewarding role, or would like further information, please contact the Revd Karen Freeman (0151 652 5647), Mrs Linda Christian (Chair of Governors) or the Head teacher, Mrs Szydlowska (0151 652 1278), who can discuss this with you further.
