Year 6 Helpful Reminders

  • Monday - You’ll be given your homework books  - each week there’s a maths task, plus spellings which you must learn and write into sentences.

  • Tuesday - You’ll need to hand in your reading record, which should contain at least 5 dated comments in which you discuss the language and events of the book you’re reading. Aim to read at least 10 pages per night to boost your vocabulary and imagination for writing!

  • Friday -  Homework books are handed in on Friday. Today you’ll be tested on the spellings you’ve learned and we’ll mark the maths task together in maths lessons, going over any tricky concepts you might have struggled with.

  • Our PE lesson is held on a Friday - ensure you bring in a full school PE kit of black/navy blue shorts, white t-shirt and suitable black pumps or trainers. School shoes/ballet pumps are not suitable for PE.

If it’s difficult to get your homework or reading done at home, we offer a lunchtime reading and homework club to support you.

From February we’ll be running our weekly SATs study club each Tuesday evening to help prepare you for your SATs in May.
