We are delighted that you are considering choosing Christ Church CE Primary School for your child's education. Below you can find out about our admissions procedures and policies.
Admissions to Nursery
Nursery admissions are managed by the school. All families can access 15 hours free nursery provision in the term after their child's third birthday as follows:
- Children born between 1 January and 31 March become eligible in April (Summer Term)
- Children born between 1 April and 31 August become eligible in September (Autumn Term)
- Children born between 1 September and 31 December become eligible in January (Spring Term)
This entitlement will last until your child is in full-time education.
In addition, we are pleased to confirm our offer of 30 hours Early Education Funding (EEF) for working parents/ carers of three and four-year-olds. To check your eligibility and apply for the 30 hours funding, please visit the Government website by clicking here.
If you are eligible for 30 hours funding your child will attend Nursery all day from 9:00am - 3:30pm, for 38 weeks per year, during term time only. For parents/ carers who are not eligible for the additional 15 hours, your child may still access a full-time place by paying a top-up fee of £10 a session (AM: 9:00am-12:00pm or PM: 12:30pm-3:30pm).

- Your child’s birth certificate
- Proof of your address (e.g. recent bank statement or utility bill)
Admissions to Reception to Year 6
Parents who wish their children to attend Christ Church CE Primary School from Reception year, need to complete Wirral Local Authority primary school place application form from 1st September and by the 15th January prior to the following September start date. Allocation of places will be based on the criteria set out in our Admissions Policy and further details of the application process can be found below:

Apply for a Primary School Place Online
Parents who wish to transfer their child during the school year need to complete the relevant primary in-year application form which can be accessed by clicking the link here. Admission to Wirral schools is co-ordinated by the local authority and schools cannot offer places directly.
Parents are strongly advised to discuss the reason for requesting a transfer with their current school prior to making an application.
Transfer to Secondary School
Children in Wirral transfer to secondary school at age 11. A separate booklet describing the provision for secondary education is given to all parents of children in the last year of primary school. The Headteacher will hold a meeting for all parents of children in Year 6 early in the Autumn term to guide them through the process.Wirral Schools Admission Information

Appeals
If your request for a place at a particular school has been refused you can appeal.
If your child is refused a place at any school, you will receive a letter from the Local Authority. This will explain why your child has been refused a place and which options are available to you.
To make an appeal you must complete the Wirral Schools Admission Appeal Form which can be found by clicking here.
Following Allocation Day on 1st March 2025 (secondary) and 16th April 2025 (primary), parents may wish to submit an appeal. Full details of the appeals process will appear here nearer the time.
