Admissions

We are delighted that you are considering choosing Christ Church CE Primary School for your child's education. Below you can find out about our admissions procedures and policies.

Admissions to Nursery

Nursery admissions are managed by the school. All families can access 15 hours free nursery provision in the term after their child's 3rd birthday as follows:

  • Children born between 1 January and 31 March become eligible in April (Summer Term)
  • Children born between 1 April and 31 August become eligible in September (Autumn Term)
  • Children born between 1 September and 31 December become eligible in January (Spring Term)

The entitlement will last until your child is in full-time education.

Our Nursery operates 5 days per week, Monday to Friday,  from 9:00am-12:00pm, for 38 weeks per year, during term time only.

To apply for a place in our Nursery provision, please contact the school office here or  click the link here to complete an online application form. When completed please provide the following information to the school office: 

  • Your child’s birth certificate
  • Proof of your address (e.g. recent bank statement or utility bill)

Admissions to Reception to Year 6

Parents who wish their children to attend Christ Church CE Primary School from Reception year,  need to complete Wirral Local Authority primary school place application form from 1st September and by the 15th January prior to the following September start date. Allocation of places will be based on the criteria set out in our Admissions Policy, including over-subscription criteria and further details of the application process can be found below:

Apply for a Primary School Place Online

If your child is already attending another Wirral primary school, but you want to apply for a place at Christ Church CE Primary School, click here for an in-year transfer form which must be filled out and sent to Primary Admissions at the Local Authority. We have these forms in school also and we are more than happy to send to the admissions team on your behalf. Before applying, it is always best to phone the school to see if places are available first. Appointments to view the school can also be made. Once the form has been received by admissions they will forward on the information to both schools involved with the move. The schools will be in contact to discuss whether or not the move should go ahead. Once a decision has been made the parent/s will be informed and a start date will be set.

Transfer to Secondary School

Children in Wirral transfer to secondary school at age 11. A separate booklet describing the provision for secondary education is given to all parents of children in the last year of primary school. The Headteacher will hold a meeting for all parents of children in Year 6 early in the Autumn term to guide them through the process.Wirral Schools Admission Information

Appeals

If your request for a place at a particular school has been refused you can appeal.

If your child is refused a place at any school, you will receive a letter from the Local Authority. This will explain why your child has been refused a place and which options are available to you.

To make an appeal you must complete the School Appeals Form which can be found by clicking here. 

Following Allocation Day on 1st March 2025 (secondary) and 16th April 2025 (primary), parents may wish to submit an appeal.  Full details of the appeals process will appear here nearer the time.
