Christ Church CE Primary School

'With God,
all things are possible' (Matthew 19:26)

Welcome to our Nursery class page.

We understand that starting nursery school can be a daunting experience for both parents and children. Here at Christ Church we aim to support our children and families as much as we can to ensure we have happy children who have a love of life long learning. We welcome our parents into school and will always find the time to provide any support or answer any queries.

On this page you will find some useful information regarding our Nursery class.

If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to book an appointment to visit our nursery class please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you,

Miss Compton and Miss Strange

Learning at home

In Nursery we recognise that parents are a child's first educator and therefore value the learning that takes place at home. We know that a love of learning comes from the everyday opportunities to talk, question, explore, experience, experiment and investigate and encourage our families to provide as many of these opportunities as possible.

Each child has their own Tapestry profile where school staff will share some of their learning experiences in school. We encourage our parents to add to their child's profile by sharing images and videos of their child's learning at home.

Reading & Book Bags

As a school we also provide our children with a reading for pleasure book to take home each week. The children select a storybook to take home on Monday and return their book bags on Friday.
As Nursery children thrive from repetition, we recommend that parents read to their children as often as possible, talking about the characters, images and events in the story.
